1. What is your favourite thing to do when you’re not working?

I love the outdoors! I enjoy traveling with my husband and my two daughters, we have seen a lot of the country traveling in our caravan. We try to get away for a decent trip every year and last year we did five weeks traveling the beautiful Kimberley and ticked the Gibb River Road off our bucket list.

We are so lucky to have such a beautiful country.  We have been to Uluru, then made our way through Cooper Pedy and down to South Australia. We have also followed the beautiful Eyre Peninsula around and through the South West of Western Australia.

When we aren’t traveling my girl’s race BMX, we go to as many race meets as possible, at the end of the year we are looking to combine traveling to Tasmania for a month and compete at the National Titles.

2. Do you have any hidden talents?

I love sewing, I inherited my grandparent’s sewing machine, I am self-taught, and love seeing what I’ve made. I am a pretty decent dart player too, coming from two generations of well-regarded players in my family.

3. What’s the most exciting part of your job?

I pride myself on my work, and I get a lot of self-satisfaction out of what I do. I am a person who loves a challenge and achieving great results. I get satisfaction in knowing that I am helping people achieve their business goals and dreams, while I am achieving my own business goals and dreams.

4. What motivates you at work?

I’ve always been a pretty self-driven person with a good work ethic. What motivates me? Having passion and the desire to do my best, and I love to help others.

In the words of Zig Ziglar “motivation is like bathing, you have to do it every day. Without motivation, you will never have the drive to take action and without action, you can never reach your goals and live your dreams.”

What inspires me? now that I have children, they would have to be my biggest inspiration, the desire to leave a legacy behind makes my heart smile.

5. What’s something you find challenging about your work

I’m going to be completely honest here… getting people to understand that  “she’ll be right" attitude won’t cut it. Invest in your business and understand your obligation as a PCBU or employer, your business is your livelihood and your dream.

6. Where do you suggest farmers start when it comes to health and safety?

I have worked in multiple industries, and it is not just farmers who feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to start, so I tell people not to feel alone.

My advice is to find the right people that can help set your business up for success. Google is a great research tool, or even your local chamber of commerce can help. If all else fails, talk to a mate because nine times out of ten a mate will know someone.
