Spanning more than 800,000 hectares across the Pilbara and Kimberley regions of Western Australia, Pardoo Wagyu operates a diverse portfolio of cattle, cropping, accommodation and tourism.
The business is renowned for its premium wagyu and fully integrated supply chain. With its own genetic centre, stations and distribution network, Pardoo Wagyu maintains complete oversight of production from paddock to plate, ensuring exceptional quality at every stage.
Having been a Safe Ag Systems client since 2024, the team already had a solid foundation in place. Rather than standing still, they chose to explore how the system could better support their operation.
The team identified several opportunities to enhance efficiency and improve visibility across the business, including:
Committed to continuous improvement, Pardoo Wagyu engaged Hannah, Safe Ag Systems' WHS Consultant and Client Success Manager, to review their existing setup. Together, they identified opportunities to further optimise the system.
Through a series of on-site workshops, Hannah worked closely with supervisors and workers to demonstrate practical ways the system could support daily operations.
Workers received hands-on training in the Safe Ag Systems app. Learning how to navigate the system, complete assigned policies and procedures, use QR codes, submit checklists, manage tasks and access emergency alerts.
For supervisors, the focus was on making safety management simpler, more efficient and easier to maintain. One area identified for improvement was the way toolbox talks and meeting records were being managed.
Using Safe Ag Systems, supervisors were shown how to build and conduct toolbox talks directly within the systems. By introducing structured discussion topics and guided prompts, meetings became easier to facilitate while ensuring important conversations were consistently documented.
This streamlined process removed the need for manual note-taking, separate document creation and additional uploading, allowing everything to be captured and stored in one place. Historical records also became easier to locate, providing valuable evidence during audits and compliance reviews.
The benefits also extended beyond station operations.
By creating dedicated structures for accommodation blocks and facilities within Safe Ag Systems, the accommodation team streamlined maintenance reporting and job management. Staff could quickly log issues against a specific location, allowing maintenance teams to receive accurate information earlier and prepare the required parts and resources before attending the site.
These practical improvements helped create greater visibility, accountability and efficiency across multiple areas of the business.
With such a large and diverse operation, maintaining consistent safety practices across teams is an ongoing commitment. Pardoo Wagyu recognised the importance of continually refining its systems and invested the time to ensure safety processes remained practical, effective and easy to use.
The changes may have been simple, but their impact has been significant. They show how well-supported teams and practical technology can strengthen safety across complex agricultural operations.
