5 minutes with Insync Workplace Solutions

The team at Insync Workplace Solutions are People, Safety and Culture Experts who genuinely care about people and business. On a mission to Educate, Empower, Enable individuals and organisations worldwide to build high performing, human-centred, inclusive, physically and psychologically safe workplaces.

They understand one size does not fit all, which is why they spend time getting to know their clients, their people and their business before co-creating solutions to meet individual needs.

1. What is your favourite thing to do when you’re not working?

Spending time with family, friends and my three crazy Cavoodles.

2. What's your most-used productivity hack?

I still use a paper diary that I write my to-do list in. Being able to physically cross off items as I complete, gives a sense of achievement and reward to completing the tasks. It then makes it easier to move onto the next task.

3. What’s the most exciting part of your job?

No two days are the same and we get to meet and help so many different people, hear their stories and then work out solutions that work for them.

4. What motivates you at work?

Being able to help others to not only keep their workplaces and people safe, but support the growth of their businesses.

5. What’s something you find challenging about your work

It’s not really a challenge as such, but there is still a lack of understanding around why safety is important in business. It is still very much seen as something that is complicated and creates extra work which has to some extent been a result of the safety profession over complicating things. Safety doesn’t need to be (and shouldn’t be) complicated, we spend a lot of time in businesses unwinding complicated systems and processes to make them user friendly and support the business not work against it.

6. Where do you suggest farmers start when it comes to health and safety?

Look around your farm and try to look at it through a different lens remembering everyone’s perception of risk is different. If we have been exposed to something for an extended period our brains may not see that as being a risk and we may miss things that could hurt someone else. It’s not always the obvious things that are the greatest risk.  Consider having an audit conducted by someone else to help identify the hazards and risks on your farm.
